Effective IETS Management with Membrane Filtration and AOP Reducing Effluent Costs and Minimizing Business Loss
Participants will gain in-depth knowledge particularly on Membrane Filtration and Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) and apply them in the management of their IETS.
Description
This course will cover the general descriptions and understanding of the Conventional Treatment Processes of Industrial Effluent Treatment System (IETS). Very brief description on Physical Chemical Processes (PCP) and Biological Processes (BP). It provides guidance on the various type of membrane processes and illustrate with membrane technology applications. It also covers the processed water can be further treated using advance oxidation processes before being discharged. Discussion on Industrial Effluent Characteristics Study (IECS) will be brought up. Wastewater parameters, treatment and disposal method are listed. A case study on IETS of book printing industry is presented. Eventually, the module covers other aspects such as Performance Monitoring, Activated Sludge control parameters and calculation, basic lab and instrument needed for parameter testing, Troubleshooting and Upset Condition and lastly, Environmental Monitoring Committee (EMC) Report and meeting.
In conclusion, the participants will understand the various wastewater technologies and strategies and apply them in effective Industrial Effluent Treatment system (IETS) management. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge particularly on Membrane Filtration and Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) and apply them in the management of their IETS. This course will not cover the most popular topics such as Physical, Chemical and Biological treatment processes since it will be discussed in another course. Participant will gain skills and confidence to effectively address the complex challenges associated with industrial effluent treatment and ensure that the IETS is in compliance with Environmental Quality (Industrial Effluent) Regulations 2009.
