Optimized Scheduled Waste Management: Understanding Waste Receiver Operations to Improve Waste Handling and Achieve Waste Minimization
This course allows teaches various waste treatment recovery techniques and approaches at the Waste Receivers’ premises. A competent person can cooperate with Waste Receivers in minimizing the unnecessary recovery processes and hence improve efficiency in waste treatment. This can be also achieved through smart generation of wastes that can be treated efficiently at Waste Receivers’ premises.
Description
A Competent Person normally does waste management and minimization in the plant without fully understanding how the waste is being handled and processed at the Waste Receiver (WR) premises.
Competent Persons rarely visit Waste Receivers (WR). They have minimal clues on how the Waste Receivers (WR) process and treat their wastes. There are even fewer Waste Generators (WG) who ever take back the recycled material from Waste Receivers (WR) and recycle back into their production. Due to this lack of knowledge and understanding, Circular Economy (CE) is rarely practiced in most Waste Generators (WG) plants.
The course will cover detailed practices and treatment process of Waste Receivers (WR) in handling and treating of our consigned wastes. By having a better understanding of these treatment processes, a Competent Person can firstly consider the idea of using recycled material from WR. Secondly, the Competent Person can consider employing a similar or smaller treatment equipment in the plants and practice on-site recovery. Thirdly, Competent Persons (CPs) can also work on the processes of how the wastes are being generated such that these wastes can be treated with better efficiency and with more recycle material volume, eventually become a win-win situation for both WR and WG in terms of lowering the treatment cost and recycle material cost.
It covers most of the scheduled wastes generated by industries. These include spent oil, spent solvent, E-wastes, paint waste, contaminated rags and containers. The course will cover what are the popular wastes and the recovery process in module 1. Module 2 covers various types of waste oils and how these are being recovered. Detailed study of E-Waste recovery will be discussed in Module 3. Module 4 covers more wastes such as SW 102, SW103, SW422 etc. Module 5 discusses the best practices of Waste Generator in generating wastes. that can be treated at the Waste Receiver premises. Finally, module 6 will expose how Waste Receivers make profit and how Waste Generators work together in order to achieve a win-win scenario.
