Understanding and Implementing Environmental Quality (Refrigerant Management) Regulations 2020
This training provides a practical understanding of the regulatory framework, enforcement expectations by the Department of Environment (DOE), and steps for effective implementation of compliance measures within your organisation.
Description
The Environmental Quality (Refrigerant Management) Regulations 2020 were enacted under the Environmental Quality Act 1974 to ensure that the handling, use, and disposal of refrigerants are conducted in a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible manner.
As refrigeration and air-conditioning (RAC) systems are integral to industrial, commercial, and building operations, organisations must understand their legal obligations to avoid non-compliance, operational disruptions, or environmental penalties.
This one-day online training program introduces participants to the Environmental Quality (Refrigerant Management) Regulations 2020 and its connection to Malaysia’s commitment under the Montreal Protocol to phase out ozone-depleting substances. Participants will gain a clear understanding of legal requirements concerning refrigerant handling, technician certification, record-keeping, and the prohibition of refrigerant release.
Through real-world case discussions and compliance examples, participants will learn how to translate regulatory requirements into operational practices suitable for their business sector.
